Author: hayworth4 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.albertson/464.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello, There is a cemetery on Prospect Rd Ext that is a High Point address at a church that have many of the Albertson's buried there. In fact, my grandparents, Paul Allen Albertson, Sr and Mary Eva Lawson Albertson are buried there. Reason, the Albertson family gave the land to the church and up to 4 generations of Albertsons could be buried there. I hope that this is helpful. There is also an Albertson Rd. in Davidson/Randolph county line. My great grandmother was an English--I mention that as you mentioned the English family as well. I have most of the family pictures...I am sort of the keeper of them, and I am the youngest grandchild and great niece of my Albertson relatives that I know. My grandfather had 8 siblings (he was number 7 of 9 total) and the older siblings were much, much older and I do not know their children or grand children. My grandfather died in 1970, and I wasn't born until 1971. My grandparents lived on the last 10 acres that was left from a land gr! ant given to the family in the 1700's, but was lost after the paid $600.00 per son to keep them from fighting in the Civil War, as most of our family is Quaker--the English side has many Wesleyans. After the Civil War, much of the land was sold or taken to pay the taxes owed to the government. That last 10 acres was sold to Charity Baptist Church by my father and uncle in the 1990's after my grandmother passed. This land is on Albertson Rd. in Randolph County, but I believe is a Thomasville address--very near to the cemetery I mentioned earlier. This may be more information than you were looking for but hopefully, will put some puzzle pieces together for you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
