The closest I can write the pronounciation of Scituate is Sitt-chewit. The original spelling and prounciation was Satuit(sa-tu-it) meaning cold brook. Scituate, RI is named for Scituate, MA. I'm descended from Sarah Albeson/Albertson daughter of Nicholas "the Swede" though now I'm confused if shes more likely the daughter of Nick Jr. then Nick Sr. as my chart has her born abt 1682. Her husband, Joseph Ramsdell was born abt 1680. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
