Hi Albertsons, This sudden flury of Albertson messages has re-ignited my interest in my own Albertson ancestor, about whom I have been able to find almost nothing. I have been printing all of the Albertson messages that I have received in the hope that they might somehow connect to my Albertson ancestor. One of my great grandparents is Mary "Margaret" Coats Albertson. She was born on 1 Oct 1812 and died 25 Nov 1868 from yellow fever probably in Philadelphia, PA. She married George Parker Mercer. Her father owned and ran a shipping business at Third and Pine in Philadelphia, PA. George may have joined his father-in-law in the shipping business. Later, George inherited the shipping business and operated it with an unknown brother until his death from yellow fever. George and Mary had nine children, and I have some information for most. One of these was James Roland Mercer, who became a very successful businessman in Reading, PA. He is my grandfather, and Mary and George are my great grandparents. But who was Mary Albertson's father ? Who was his wife, and where did the family come from ? I see you have a Nettie in your family. It is not a very common name. I is odd that I can't find my George M. anywhere. Seems like he just fell off the earth. He lived in NY.
