    3. Ruth, I would like to know if there is such a site too. Since I haven't found one yet, here is what I do: 1) Coordinate converter (converts Section/Township/Range/Meridian to latitude & longitude in decimal form): http://www.maptown.com/coordinates.html. Make note of the lat & long for use in next step. 2) Natural Resources Canada/Geomatics Canada: http://geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/english/cgndb_coord.html Using the results from step 1, enter the 'degrees' of latitude and longitude. Do not directly use the decimal portion in the 'minutes' portion -- instead, to determine the minutes portion, multiply that decimal amount by 60 and round off to two digits, and use this new figure. (Remember? One degree of lat or long = 60 minutes.) Place names from the surrounding area will be displayed. You may already be familiar with this site: Finding Aid: Prairie Land Records: http://interlinkbookshop.com/dominion.htm. It might be helpful too. -- Debra Arnison Sutton darnison@telusplanet.net ---------- From: Arthur N.
