    3. Hello June, I have a large Cummins map of Alberta. The land description of the farm is just north of Ninton Alberta, which is on Hwy 16 west of Edmonton going towards Jasper. Here is the legal land description for the Railway station in Ninton. Mail route - Niton-Railway Station SE Sec. 18, Twp. 54, R. 12, W5M - 1926-05-17 Sec. 13, Twp. 54, R. 13, W5M - 1918-10-15 A bit further west on Hwy 16 is the town of Yates. This is probably where she is buried. Mail route - Yates-Railway Station SE 1/4 Sec. 17, Twp. 54, R. 16, W5M Hope this helps, Caroline June Harvey <june.harvey@gmail.com> wrote: Dear Listers: A visit is planned this Summer to Alberta to locate a homestead and a grandmother's gravesite. The only clues thus far are a Land Grant (homestead) and a Death Certificate. Unfortunately, the legal description given on each document are different. Land Grant: To Albert WAITE, NE1/4, Sec.19, Twp.56, Range 13, W5M. Death Certificate: Elizabeth Ann WAITE, buried on farm - SE1/4, Sec.16, Twp.54, Range 16, W5M. The Land Grant was made in 1920 and the death was in 1935. Does anyone have survey maps that would make identifying these properties easy? We have no idea where they would be. Alternatively, Is there anywhere on the Net that we could look at survey maps ourselves? Would really appreciate some help with this conundrum. thank you for reading June ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ALBERTA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message --------------------------------- Need Mail bonding? 3. Hi Caroline and June: I believe the correct name of the towns is 1) Niton...Niton Junction....and/or (2) Hinton. NOT Ninton...please check your maps carefully...they are a ways apart!
