Hi Everyone: I have just joined the List and am hoping that someone may have some info that may help me. I have been researching one of my Yorkshire surnames HOOD. Different members of the families moved to Ontario and then some moved on. I am looking for info on a George HOOD who may have been born around 1870 in Ontario. His mother died when he was 1 or 2 years old. He stayed with his Aunt and Grandparents in Huron, Ontario. His father, William moved to the States and when he remarried in 1879, he came back up to Ontario and brought his sons George and Henry back to the States to live with him. We have info that George moved to High River, Alberta. From a different source, we have heard that George's father, William, owned a farm there, although the father never lived there. From some other info, we have heard that a daughter of William from his second marriage, Anna Hood TEATSWORTH also lived in High River. So we suspect it could be around the same place as her 1/2 brother George lived. >From info that Anna Hood TEATSWORTH sent to someone while she was still alive, Anna had one daughter named Viola SMITH and Viola had a son named Harold SMITH. Harold had 2 children Lenora and Kenneth SMITH. Anna Hood TEATSWORTH mentioned in her letter that she had a large scrapbook on her family info. Is there anyone else out there searching any of these individuals or better still does anyone know any of the SMITH family mentioned here. Would love to get in touch with them. All help appreciated.
