To all who wish to support Senator Lorna Milne:- Support of Senator Lorna Milne and her Bill S-12 could lead to release of Post-1901 Canadian census records. The records are safe at National Archives -- but you and I are prevented from viewing OUR own history. The last Scoreboards posted by Gordon Watts are from October 1, 2001 -- to date no GOLD TICK AWARDS have been posted by Gordon, whether Senate or House of Commons. Check http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census Scoreboards for both Senate and House of Commons are there. Re the SENATE, the Oct. 1/01 numbers read:- FOR = 15/ AGAINST = 2/ NON-COMMITTAL = 10/ and NO RESPONSE = 69 as follows:- Quebec = 21/ Ontario = 15/ New Brunswick = 6/ Nova Scotia = 6/ Newfoundland = 4/ Alberta = 4/ Saskatchewan - 4/ Prince Edward Island = 2/ NWT, Yukon, Nunavut = 3 PLEASE -- Once the GOLD TICK AWARD list is published, do not write to ask these Senators for their support -- it could work against what Senator Milne is doing for us. Use your WORD or whatever program, type your letter, change the name(s) of each Senator as you finish printing each letter -- address will be the same except for the name(s) -- POSTAGE IS FREE. Cost:- A bit of time, about 100 sheets of paper and 100 envelopes. Hard-copy mail is answered more quickly than e-mail. Again, PLEASE check lists of all present supporters. Muriel M.
