I'm looking into the Allen/Allin family which came from to Alberta from Ontario in the early 1900's. Thomas Henry Allen b.1850 near Bowmanville, Ont. married 1879 Alice Mary Ward and then moved west in early 1900's following her death. He came with some of his children and homesteaded originally in the Kitscoty area. He was supposed to have died in Lloydminster in 1913 and to have been buried there. Neither the Prov of Sask nor Alta have a death record of him in that area. Alta has a record of a Thomas Allin born near Bowmanville, Ont. who was killed by a falling tree near Padstow in 1913. The informant on the death certificate was Edgar Allin, a prominant surgeon in Edmonton at the time. Edgar also came from the Bowmanville area of Ontario and was probably one generation younger than Thomas. The name of the attending physician on the certificate is "none". My thinking is that Edgar acted as a friend or relative rather than a physician. One of TH's daughters married in 1918 George William Adams and they lived and she died in Ronan, which is not far from Padstow. Does anyone have any info on TH Allen or family? The name has been spelled variously as Allen/Allin. Many thaks. Al.
