    3. My grandparents, Arthur and Jessie Dickens moved to Alberta Canada sometime around 1902. As far as we can tell they lived in Ponoka or Millet, Alberta. Since I am not familiar with Alberta I don't know if these are towns, districts or counties. Family history says that my Grandfather was one of the founding fathers of a place called "Patience", Alberta. Does anyone know if this place even exists or existed? Alice D. Ledee Asst. 3. Alice, Ponoka is a town 100 km south of Edmonton or 50 km north of Red Deer. Ponoka is in the centre of a major agricultural area of central Alberta. County of Ponoka surrounds the town. Millett is a village 40 km south of Edmonton, just south of Leduc. It too is in an agricultural area. Millett is in the County of Leduc. Patience may have been a hamlet, as it's not on the current highway map. 3. If you go to the following website, go down to Wetaskiwin, and click on map, there is a map of the Wetaskiwin area. which has "Patience" on it. http://users.rootsweb.com/~canab/maps/albertamap.html There is a history book "Mingling Memories" which has the name Arthur Herbert Dickens, listed in it. If you go to the following website, under Red Deer, down to the book "Mingling Memories", there is a volunteer that may be able to look up the information for you, if you think this is you grandparent. http://users.rootsweb.com/~canab/lookup5.html#Red%20Deer Hope this is of some help to you.
