Hi Listers, Having accessed the data base for Dominion Land Grants ( @ Nat'l Archives for Canada) in connection with the hamlet of Indus,AB.......I found : - Reference : Liber: 198 Folio: 74 File reel number: C-6089. Can somone tell me what information such a microfilm might contain and how I might obtain the info. it contains. (For the moment I'm living in Toronto soon to move to Montreal.) Earl.

    3. Earl, The film C-6089 will have a copy of the patent registration issued to the homesteader on that land. You can order the film through inter-library or archival loan from the National Archives of Canada. Something else you might be interested in doing is contacting the Research Group at the Edmonton Branch Alberta Genealogical Society. A member of that group could copy the homestead application which would have been completed at the time of applying for homestead land. These homestead applications are on microfilm at the Provincial Archives of Alberta.
