Hi All My question is if I have some one who missed the 1881 census and immigrated to Canada some time between then and 1883 how would I go about finding him if I am not sure where he was born. I have no idea exactly when they came to Canada or where they arrive, I do know the children born after Joseph (who I am looking for) were born in Alberta. I was always told Joseph was born in England but I haven't been able to find him. Theresa: Two suggestions I would make for you to follow: 1) If you can find your ancestors on the 1901 Census then one of the questions asked is the year of immigration to Canada for those born outside Canada. Also asked is date of birth and place of birth, although usually for places of birth outside Canada only the country is given. Of course this information is only as accurate as the knowledge of the individual giving the information. 2) If you can obtain a copy of the full death registration then information such as place of birth, age etc might be given here as well, again being as accurate as the knowledge of the individual giving the information.
