    1. [ALBERTA] Post 1901 Census - Debate on Bill C-312 delayed. Town Hall Meeting for Manitoba
    2. Gordon A. Watts
    3. Greetings All It now appears very unlikely that MP Murray Calders Bill C-312 - An Act to amend the Statistics Act and the National Archives of Canada Act (census records) - will be debated as expected this month. It looks like the House will debate the budget on the 11th and 12th and then break for Christmas, returning January 28th. It is possible that the budget debate will continue for a day or two on the 28th and 29th, but Murray's bill will be the first to come forward once private members' business resumes. On my previous message giving locations and dates for the Town Hall meetings relating to Census, there was no location shown for Manitoba. I have now received that information and include it here for your information. WINNIPEG, MANITOBA January 23, 2001 2-4pm& 6-8pm The Fairmont Winnipeg 2 Lombard Place The Environics Research webpages relating to these meetings are now online at http://erg.environics.net/ As of the time of this writing, I have still not found anything on Statistics Canada website regarding these meetings.
