I can't answer your question but I can tell you that it took a while to finally settle on where it is today. I owned a home in the Elk Valley of BC. The Certificate of Title described the property as being in Alberta. On further investigation I learned that the old border was the Elk River. When they changed the border further east, my property ended up in BC. The border now cuts right through a building called "the Crowsnest Inn". When the drinking age was different in Alberta and BC, the younger people would sit in one province. ----- Original Message ----- From: "dnd" <edge_3d@telusplanet.net> To: <ALBERTA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2001 10:04 PM Subject: [ALBERTA] Provincial boundry > Hello List. > I have a question(s) that I am hoping someone may be able to answer for me. > > Does anyone know when the Alberta/B.C. boundry was established, or the years > it was surveyed? > Also, does anyone know if or how I could find information on the people who > did the surveying (employment records etc.) > > Thanks, > Donna > > > ==== ALBERTA Mailing List ==== > Do not use HTML or RTF (rich text format) in messages sent to > the mailing list - they will be returned to you. > >
