Ines; Are you sure its Shaw that is blocking? Do you have a Shaw address where I could inquire or complain? Isn't that bounce message from alberta-bounces@rootsweb.com ? Yesterday I sent a test posting with the Subject: Surnames Jones & Smith to Alberta@rootsweb.com yesterday. Today I got a confirmation copy of my posting just like we used to get before all this started.. So I sure don't know what the message from alberta-bounce is all about. Since mid Aug. there has been some sort of Swedish or Norwegian 'doorx ??? virus' blocked by Shaw. They have been warning us about it often over the past two weeks or so. So the Stomach Churns .........., Martha Ines Mannhardt wrote: >Hello to all Shaw subscribers, >Shaw is blocking Rootsweb mailing lists again and you are all >bouncing off the list. Hi, I am a shaw customer.............just testing Darlene
Having heard of the situation and being in touch with Shaw, it took time for the request to this list to come through but am now subbed as a member and Shaw subscriber, therefore am pleased to report: All is fine....if the members who are on this list wish to contact the members whom they know are no longer on the list and simply advise them to resubscribe should they so wish to, would suffice.... Am pleased was able to help you out and now will go on and continue working on what it is was before realizing all of this... Thank YOU for reading and for now will remain in the background as you continue to work onward on this list? ByeBye! :)
Dick, that isn't so but between here and Australia am sure there are often different storms occurring....therefore always remember, it takes electricity to run anything on the internet...:)
just joined this list to make sure it's working ok? Will see if this message shows and returns to me... No need to reply....Thank You! :)
Hello to all Shaw subscribers, Shaw is blocking Rootsweb mailing lists again and you are all bouncing off the list. I just finished subscribing everybody who bounced off yesterday. If this happens again, please subscribe again and contact Shaw. I am not sure there is much I can do but I'll try. Rootsweb is trying to get this issue resolved. They feel it would be useful if the Shaw members contact Shaw as well. Ines
Hoping to hear from Pat Jones & Bill Smith who used to live in Enilda, AB. Cheers, Martha

In the census of that year he was working in the nearby Lochnagar Distillery. According to the nominal rolls on the Alberta FHS site, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces on the 19th January 1915 at Calgary. He gave his father in Scotland as next of kin so I am presuming he wasn't married by then. I haven't found him on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission so am presuming he didn't die in World War 1. I would be grateful for any assistance in finding out more about him and of course would be thrilled to make contact with any relative also! Tish ps - I'm not based in Canada so all my research has to be on-line!
