    3. I just plugged into the bcarchives website and it comes up as anne dying in 1945 December being 80 years old. Does this sound like her? She died in Vancouver. There were at least dozen or more Hermansen deaths.

I have a feeling they went to Hans's farm in Disdsbury in 1916 when he joined the service, as he was a farmer. In 1921 the moved to Seattle, Washington. Hans's mother was my grandfather August Westad's sister. I would like to know when they moved back to Vancouver, Canada and also the year Anne Hermansen passed away. Their son's names were Herman Hansen, Hans, Matthias, & August; daughter Martha. I also would like to know if anyone has information on their son Herman Hansen. Thank you! Phyllis Westad Prigge

    3. The parents of Leslie Wood Brown were William R. Brown, 1841-1891 and Hannah Ellen Wood, 1851-1948. Both buried Brantford, Ontario, although Hannah may have visited in the West, can't locate her obit. Leslie was residing at 15 Sarah Street, Brantford in 1907, and by the census 1911, living Edmonton. Children of Leslie Wood Brown & Annetta Rose Miller, found dates, all four born Brantford: Dorothy Margaret, born January 26, 1903 Mary Kathleen, March 17, 1904 Donald Miller, July 20, 1905 Grace Eleanor, January 7, 1907 likely William R., born abt 1909 in West perhaps others aft 1911?? 3. I live in Ontario, tracing BROWNs who went West from Brantford, Ontario, descendants of Robert W. Brown & Hannah Ellen Wood. The obit in the Brantford newspaper of one of their sons, Leslie Wood Brown, died March 22, 1921, reads: "On March 22, 1921, at Peace River, Leslie W. Brown, formerly of Brantford. The deceased was 44 years of age and was a son of Mrs. H. Ellen Brown. Formerly of the firm of Baird and Brown of Brantford. The deceased was a son of Mrs. H. Ellen Brown. He was 44 years of age and died after a short illness. Besides his widow and several children, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Dr. Oswald, Edmonton, Alberta; Mrs. Hunt, High River, Alberta; and Mrs. Holmes, who resides in the West.He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. H. Ellen Brown and one brother, William Brown, who resides in Saskatchewan." **I believe he married Annetta Rose Miller in Middlesex County, Ontario. And five of their children were: Dorothy Margaret; Mary Kathleen; Donald Miller; Grace Eleanor; and William R. Looking for his children and those four siblings out West, Mrs. Dr. Oswald, Grace Elizabeth & Joseph Hunt, Ruth Ellen & Elmo Rene Holmes and brother William (born abt 1909, Ontario).** Grateful for any clues. 3. Jeff, hi: I'm not sure...it's my wife's family, and they (ie the original immigration people) spelled it uke, not iuk. However, that doesn't always mean a lot. As far as I know, her Hominuke people were basically in southern Alberta. But I'll inquire further... I have been helping a Dutch fellow trying to find his wife's Finnish ancestors who had spent some time in the Frank and Lille. Apparently, Liisa (Maenpaa) Hakkila died on Sep 12, 1906 in Canada. On the 1906 census Hakkilas were living in Lille at the end of June with 2 sons- Ilmari b. Oct 10, 1904 and Wiljam b. Dec 16, 1905 (both b. in AB). I have found a passenger record for Antti on his own leaving Finland on Sep 26, 1906 and travelling to Frank. That's only 2 weeks after the death of Liisa. I have not found a burial record for Liisa in the Crowsnest Pass (I have the CD). It is possible that Antti brought the body back to Finland for burial and left the 2 young children there for family to look after. Is it possible to look up a person with the death date as many times the spellings vary? On the 1906 census the family was listed as Heckkla. Thanks for your time, Peter. Wilma
