    1. [ALBERTA] Shining Bank
    2. June Harvey
    3. Hello Listers: I am new to the Alberta list and have a couple of questions: First, by way of explanation: I am working on a branch of a family tree, as follows: WAITE., Albert and Elizabeth. Moved to Alberta in 1913 and at the time of their daughter's birth in 1916 they lived at Shining Bank. I understand that this is near Edson but cannot find it on any map. I cannot find it by Googling either. Has the town been abandoned; has it been merged into a larger city; has the name been changed? I would like to place the location of the family farm, but only have a legal description. Can anyone help out? June

I did look at the US Social Security Index and found him. It does not list his middle name but he died in DEC of 1980 in Mt. Morris, Genesee, MI, USA. I have not generated a message to the Genesee County GenWeb but will do so shortly - that is the shame on me. I have been a SAGE Family researcher for several years now and get really detailed, especially where verification is concerned. This grew out of the frustration of rumors and such concerning my own part of the SAGE Family. I now am closing in on the end of the 1700's with over 95% of the members verified. However, once in a while I come across a simple little piece that takes me away for awhile. That is how I came upon Edwin and now want to know more. Thank you for all of the leads; I will be following up on several of them. William Morrison

They have another brother named Robert John Earnest COOK (July 3, 1890) - lots of "Everetts" and "Earnests".

I am wondering if there is any way of checking with either the funeral home or the cemetery to find out the exact dates and is Clarence Baldwin's wife is also buried there. I only have her name as Besse.

    3. Hi Wilma, You know the date of Death - You know the name of the Cemetery - Rockview Garden of Peace. The Cemetery will be able to tell you - the section, plot, grave number. They should also be able to check to see if any other family members are buried in the same location - or other location at that Cemetery. The Cemetery should also The Funeral Home -may take the Personal Information required for the Death Registration. They would have the date and Place of Death etc. They may also take information for the Obituary. They also take other information not required for the Death Registration - or Obituary. Names of other family members - locations etc. They may be able to assist with that - or - act as a contact between you. Searching the Afhs site - http://www.afhs.ab.ca/data/cemeteries/search.php finds that Bess BALDWIN - is buried at Garden of Peace Cemetery. 1908 - 1988. 3. I have had very good luck with cemeteries providing information on people buried there. I'd give the cemetery a call and see what information they have. Most often they are not under the same constraints as government agencies as far as releasing information. Diana Reno, NV Wilma <whsmith@mts.net> wrote: Would anybody on the list live in Calgary?
