Posted on: General Alberta<br>Canada Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/Canada/Alberta/General/11479 Surname: ------------------------- "Heather" has posted the instructions on how to decipher these monsters on the Saskatchewan Provincial Query Forum, which you can read at http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/benbbs.cgi/Canada/Saskatchewan/General/1854 I was having problems in Saskatchewan and discovered that the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool website has some good Torrens system maps that will help if you have anything you're looking for there. And it is much easier than the other way. Anyway, I followed Heather's instructions and found your land description is close to Brosseau and Duvernay in Alberta. Unfortunately, those are unincorporated places (probably just a couple of houses and/or a grain elevator or gas station) and they probably won't show up on a map, so I dug a bit deeper and found the land is about 9 km (6 miles) from Two Hills, which you will find on an Alberta map. Good luck in the rest of your search!

    1. [ALBERTA] KARL/HARTMAN WEDDING
    2. Dennis Hughes
    3. My grandparents, Maurice George Karl and Philomena Anna Hartman were married in Alberta on July 8, 1919. Family tradition was that they were married in "St. Mary's in Edmonton." Checking with the Catholic diocese there, I was unable to locate a church named St. Mary's. My grandfather and his brother were running a sawmill at the time, so they may well have been in a town outside Edmonton. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might track down a copy of the marriage license and church record of the marriage between Maurice and Philomena? Does anyone know of a church named "St. Mary's" in a town nearby? Thank you. Dennis Hughes

    1. [ALBERTA] Lena Bergseth/Johnson
    2. Dianne Rabchak
    3. Hello, list members, I am searching for information about my great aunt, Lena Karoline Anderson, born December 23, 1892, died May 03, 1967, buried at the Leroy Community Cemetery, Leroy, SK She had a son, Clarence, Alvin Anderson, born April 19, 1915 and died April 28, 1969 in Saskatchewan. She married Ole Bergseth after 1915 and was living near Lougheed, AB. Ole had a relative Rasmus Bergseth and the family was connected to the Snethuns. A passing mention of the Ole Bergseths is in Rasmus' story in Verdant Valleys in and around Lougheed. How/when the marriage ended is unknown. Her second husband was Andrew Johnson According to Clarence Anderson's wife, Andrew was a hired man working at the same place Lena was-location unknown. How/when the marriage ended is unknown. I believe that was her last marriage since she is buried as Lena Johnson. Lena was living with Jim Thompson on a farm/ranch between Olds and Sundre, AB about 1960. I have no idea how long they were there. She then moved to her son Clarence's farm, north of Dillabough, SK--a little hamlet east of Weeks, SK and remained there until her death. Just maybe there is some one out there that recognizes these names and locations with a little more info than I have. I would sure appreciate an opportunity to fill in some of Lena's years. Thank you very much in advance. -- Dianne Rabchak Rabchak's home on the Net http://www.agt.net/public/drabchak/rabchakhome.html Peace Gen Web http://www.rootsweb.com/~abpeace/peacehome.html East Peace Gen Web http://www.rootsweb.com/~abepeace/eastpeacehome.html

    3. Hi Janice, There is an Olav Peterson listed at the following; Local History Book Entry: PETERSON, Olav ; Along The Burnt Lake Trail ; Red Deer There are many Peter Peterson's listed - in various locations. Ask on the list - if anyone has this book and can do a lookup.(if you feel that this is possibly the family you are searching). There is a volunteer at the following site; Who will search Local History books published in various communities - The volunteer -may take some time to get back to you, she is either very busy - or away -although she is still at the listing site: See Alberta - first entry: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/1285/hlCan.html Glenbow Museum and Library - also has Local Community History books in it's collection: If they have the book - they may do a look up - there will probably be a minimum charge - for copy fees or ? http://www.glenbow.org/contact.htm Contacting the Town of Red Deer - may help - http://www.city.red-deer.ab.ca/ Contacting Red Deer Library - they should have the Local Community History Book in the collection: http://www.rdpl.red-deer.ab.ca/ ** Do you know when Olav might have died? If it was over 20 years ago - the death registration is now public record - and is available at the Alberta Archive. You can visit - and photo copy ( or hand copy ) this information - or - there are volunteers who will search public records. This will save you the $20.00 fee that you would need to pay to Vital Stats - for the same information. http://raogk.rootsweb.com/alberta.htm http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/1285/hlCan.html At 02:00 PM 3/23/01 -0700, you wrote: >Posted on: General Alberta<br>Canada Queries >Reply Here: >http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/Canada/Alberta/General/11464 > >Surname: Peterson, Petterson, Pedersen, Allen, Amundson, Berg, Franson >------------------------- > >Help Please! > >Looking for information about Olav/Olaf Peterson/Petterson/Pedersen ..Born >Oslo Norway about 1874-1885..
