Hi Norma This is such an unusual name...Did a search in the BC Death Index for AAGESEN and the following is what came up...Don't know if this helps or not. There was nothing for LAUGEN. The Death Registrations and information therein are available on microfilm...Unfortunately, at the moment I am not available for lookups...Contact the BC List and post a lookup request there, if these are of interest. regards Viv in Vancouver Search Results for Deaths Index: 2 Record(s) Displayed ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- 1 Name: WILLIAM PETER AAGESEN Event Date: 1959 11 6 (Yr/Mo/Day) Age: 62 Gender: Male Event Place: VANCOUVER Reg. Doug HENDRY. I replied to your E-mail request but <"Joshua Cud"@ubsw.com>... was returned with the following message, "User unknown" Please send your correct address if you want more information. Martha In TRAILS WE BLAZED TOGETHER, (history of High Prairie, Alberta & surrounding areas), I found a story about; HENDRY, Robert Thompson (BRADWELL, Annie). It was compiled by Jean BITTLE, John HENDRY & Bernardine KRUEGER. What exactly is it that you would like to know - the story is fairly long? There is also a very long story on HENDRY, John (MARX, Elsie) which was submitted by Ellen SAVILL. Where are you E-mailing from? Hello Patricia, I was raised at Ashmont & have the book "An Era in Review". Following is the write-up. In about 1940, Howard Whitman and his wife Mona came to Ashmont from Radway, Alta & took over the agency for the Federal grain elevator. For a number of years they lived in the little housebehind Pearson's store. Howard had a great love for gardening, his speciality being flowers. He was also a great baseball fan. They would travel many miles to see a game.Another enjoyment was playing pool. Mona will always be remembered for her musical ability. She served as organist for the United Church for many many years. She led the choir, played for weddings and funeralsand oother special occasions. She was a very active meember in the United church. In the late 40's the Whitmans bought the house on the corner across from the Legion Hall. Mr. & Mrs. Learmonth lived next door. Mona & Howard were highly respected in the community. Moan passed away April 19, 1974 at the age of 83. Howard died in 1976 at age 81. Both are buried in Ashmont Cemetary. Hope this helps in your research. I am having a terrible time locating my ancestors on this line. As near as I can tell they were from Alberta. The children were all born there anyway. I have no idea how to even go about locating info in Canada. Does anyone have any info on this family or Canada genealogy in general that could help me? Eason W. Greetings All. In previous postings I have made mention of a Letter of Protest that we suggest be enclosed with your completed Census 2001 forms. It has been announced in my column in the newly released Global Gazette that this letter is downloadable from the Post 1901 Census Project website. In fact, the Letter of Protest is on the website, and is downloadable. There is no problem with the French language pages. However, on the English language pages, at this time there is a problem linking from the main page to the letter page. The new main page showing the link to the page with the Letter of Protest is not coming up, and an earlier main page is still there. I hope that this will be remedied shortly after the weekend. In the meantime, until this problem is remedied, the Letter of Protest page may be accessed directly at the following URL http://globalgenalogy.com/Census/Protest.htm Note the capitalized letters in the URL. These are necessary, or the link will not work. The downloadable letter, as with the Census petitions, is in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and requires the free downloadable Reader to access it. Some have reported problems opening up the petitions. This problem may be due to use of an earlier version of the Reader than the files were created with. The petitions and the Letter of Protest were developed with Version 4.0 of Adobe Acrobat. If you have problems opening the files, and are using an earlier version of the Reader, please download and try the latest version from http://www.adobe.com/ . Happy Hunting. Gordon A.
