    3. Actually, Cindi, Rosyth is closer to Hardisty, Alberta. It is about 5 miles East of there. There is no longer any buildings standing there except one house and a hall. There is still a railway siding also. I looked in my two local books but there wasn't anything in there but they only cover from Provost to Metiskow. Have you checked out the Alberta Genweb? It has many local history books listed some with the index of names. http://www.rootsweb.com/~canab/ Hope this helps. Helen Provost, AB

I'm figuring there will be names on it and maybe I will find something if I am lucky. Port of arrival would be nice too. Thanks for answering. Best Wishes Isabel

    3. >>I am wondering. You posted your query on Alberta-L, did you mean >>Rosyth, AL ( Alabama) or Rosyth, AB (Alberta)? Sorry folks, the marriage between Earnest Harold Chew and Mabel Florence Spencer is in Rosyth, Alberta, or I have been told that by elderly aunts. Anyway, it was some where's around there in Provost Cty. Alberta. They later moved on to Fairview, Montana where I understand Earnest was a blacksmith. Thanks Martha for pointing out the fact that AL can stand for Alabama as well. I was in a hurry. Cindi

The National Archives of Canada holds this register and it is microfilmed and is available through Inter-Library Loan. I am told that the enteries are arranged numerically by serial, then declaration number, almost chronologically. I am telling you this only from what I learned. I have had no experience with them. 3. Hi Listers, I have been trying to trace a Sing Go (Charlie). I believe he was in Alberta about 1889 and my question is. Where did the Chinese immigrant arrive in this country? I'm not sure whether to look in the east or the west. Possibly in the northern part. Does anyone have a suggestion? Being Chinese they put their last name first so his name would have been put down as Go Sing. He did live in Edmonton and moved to Medicine Hat and was married about 1919. Thankyou Isabel Love B.C.
