They had these children, Bessie Metcalf (Summers), Nellie, Jenny Metcalf (Murrell) and William Thomas Metcalfe all born in Texas.About 1910 they moved to Canada. They also lived in the Galahad, Alliance and Bulwerk Castor Coronation areas. Does anyone know if there are any history books for those areas?... Iam also searching the Goodenough name. Regards Kathy

Hi, There is a lady in Australia who is writing a book about the Cust family of Ireland, the final manuscript for which has to be sent to the printer by early October. One branch of that family settled in the Riviere Qui Barre district. While I was in Alberta this summer I had a chance to look at the book "The Black Robes Vision" (a history of St. Albert & surrounding areas) for the first time. It has an article concerning William Cust (d. 1908) that contains additional information that I do not have, but would like to be able to provide to the lady in Australia for her book. Unfortunately, I "found" this book just as the Archives were closing and it was the last day of my vacation, so I was unable to make a copy. If there is anyone out there who either has a copy of this book or has access to a copy and would be kind enough to fax me a copy of the pages pertaining to William Cust, I would be willing to return the favour with a look-up in the numerous Nova Scotian sources that I have at my disposal. Please contact me if you are interested. Thanks. Sincerely, D. Scott Johnson
Hi Pam, I have the history book "Beyond Our Prairie Trails". If you email me directly with your postal mailing address, I'll photo- copy the articles and mail them to you. I have a copy of the book "The Black Robes Vision". I have looked up the name of William Cust. The name is mentioned several times in the book but does not have a lot of family history. I also have the book "The Wheels of Time", a history of Riviere Qui Barre, that does have family history on William Cust as well as other Cust's. If you want me to fax any of this information to you, please respond to me directly and I will do it later tonight. Hello to all, I am a new member and am searching relatives past, and present of Alexander Hope Armour and his wife Elizabeth. This couple were my maternal grandparents. After a number of starts in southern Alberta they eventually settled around Lethbridge. There were 12 sons and one daughter, my mother , Lillian May. Anyone having information regarding this family or interest please contact. Ron Ferguson.
I have received a copy of the Jarvie Community Cemetery publication from the Alberta Genealogical Society, isbn# 0-920371-64-7. If anyone is researching family in this area I can do a lookup in my spare time. Just let me know. Viola; In 1850, there were only fur traders at Lac La Biche, managed out of another Fort. The Roman Catholic Missionaries didn't have a permanent Mission at Lac La Biche until 1853, and that was one of the earliest in the whole area/ territory. The Hudson's Bay Archives is likely a better place to look for such early residents since they were likely involved in some way or another with the fur trade. They can be found at: http://www.gov.mb.ca/chc/archives/hbca/index.html Alberta isn't 100 years old quite yet! Good Luck. Catherine Low Sherwood Park. Viola Seward wrote: > Hello.
