Hi Listers: I was told that by the mid-19th century, the old Acadian name MAZEROLLE had become MYSHRALL. It is the first time I have heard of this. Can anyone else confirm this? Did this apply to only one family changing their surname? Cheers, Martha.

Hi all; I am hoping that maybe someone out there who are doing Alberta Obituaries from the Sherwood Park/Edmonton area, may have picked up a copy of "Ben Lauinger" Obituary. It would have run in the newspaper either the end of November or sometime at the beginning of December. Sorry I dont have a date or anything, I learned this by word of month from a friend in Saskatchewan. Ben was the son of Paul Lauinger and Magdalena Schmidt. Ben would have been born some time after 1923. He would have been born in Saskatchewan, probably around Unity, somewhere. His wife's first new was Lena, and I am unsure as to how many children they had. 7 siblings, one brother living in Wetaskwin AB. Religion: Catholic. The names are related to baptisms performed in the 1860's and 1870's. Also, there is a Peter Masse listed in the Williamsport Census records for 1870 and especially 1880 when his name is clearly spelled "Masse." This is just an FYI. Joseph was married three times, last to Francoise Caplette. I have a "grainy" picture of the two. My great-grandfather Felix was Joseph's grandson. His father was Felix married to Catherine Laurence. My Felix was born april 21, 1868 in Little Canada, Ramsey Co., Mn. He married Emilie Cecere Letourneau, the daughter of Sophie Dupre and Julius (Julian) Letourneau in November 1888 in Centerville Mn. They had 10 children; Julius burn 1889, Emery 1891, Katherine 1894, Lavina 1896, Raymond 1899, Peter 1900, Andrew 1903/1904, Grace 1906, Frances 1909 and Unk 1910. I have Felix (born 1868) siblings as Alphonsine ?, Catherine 1850, Paul 1853, Isai 1856, Mary 1856, Josephh 1860, Liguori 1863, Emilie 1867, Charley 1873 and Peter 1884-1886.
