I joined the "Sons of the American Revolution" (SAR) using William Taylor as my patriot ancestor. He is my 4th ggf. I used SAR documentation of another cousin to prove my descent from William. I was planning to use my approved SAR application to obtain membership in the "Daughters of the American Revolution" (DAR) for my daughter. However, I've learned that DAR does not accept SAR documentation. Therefore, we have to prove descent from William to my daughter. William's descendants moved to Barbour County prior to the "War of Northern Aggression. William's son Mathias Clarke Taylor and Mathias's son Thomas Taylor died and are buried in Barbour County. I descended from Thomas's son Edward Monroe Taylor. Are there any DAR members of William Taylor descent that would be willing to share their DAR documentation?
