Terri, That Young Soldier could be from new Co A, 5th Ala Inf; Co K of the 5th was made-up of men from Barbour and under the Conscript Act of April 1862 it became new Co A; although not shown at Natl, James W. Young was also in Co K; a machinest from NY, enl at age 25; Co K also contained a number of younger soldiers; the youngest I found was Benjamin H. Brooks at age 13, and many 14, 15 and 16 year olds; Louis Chitwood who later became Co Cdr, was probably about 19 or 20 when promoted to Capt; these young folks did us all proud w/ Genl Lee's Army of Northern Va; of the more than 1200 who served with the rgt during the course of the war, only 62 remained to be paroled at Appomattox in Apr 1865.
