W/ ref to Os Confederados: Some real good reading on the exodus to Brazil can be found in the 1930 summer and fall issue of the Alabama Historical Quarterly by Dr. Peter Brannon; the series is concluded in the 1966 fall and winter issue which is a diary kept by Julia L. Keys of Montgomery; the diary period is from Apr 1867 to Aug 1870 when the family returned to the US; the articles contain many names from Ala, Ga. SC and Tex which are very familiar to large number of us; a partial list from Ala: Col Wm H.
