One of my cousins has done a bit of research on this great grandfather, so we should be able to sort it out. You know, when I was a kid (on the West Coast) trying to argue immature politics and civil rights with my father (who never talked all that much about his background), gently tried to widen my vision a bit, and told me that when he was a kid, there were still many people around who remembered the Civil War.
