Would love to hear from anyone with info on my ancestor Elias Magruder; information on him is as follows: Elias Magruder was probably living in the Barbour County area around 1850. By 1860 he had moved to Henry County and he is listed in the Henry County 1860 census as born in Maryland abt. 1805; wife Martha born in Georgia. Occupation listed as an "Overseer". He probably was Overseer for his cousin Dr. James T. Magruder's holdings in the Barbour County; the latter lived across the river in Georgia near Georgetown. He was father of my ggm Arbanrion Magruder (b. 1839, married John L. Armstrong in Clay County, Ga. in 1861).
