Homer, Bluff City Times, Thursday, June 9, 1870 "Married at the home of the bride's father, Dr. Wm.H. THORNTON, in Eufaula, by Rev. M.B. Wharton, G.L.COMER and Miss Laura V. THORTON." I am almost certain this is St. George Legare Comer, son of John F. and Catherine COMER. In 1850, he appears in the census with his parents as a 3 year old - St. George L., and in 1860 as 14 year old Legare. If you can, look at the Comer family history at: http://www.lib.unc.edu/mss/inv/c/Comer_Family >From that web site: "He married Catharine Lucinda Drewry (d. 1898) in 1841, and they had six sons: Hugh Moss Comer (1842-1900); John Wallace Comer (1845-1919); St. George Legare Comer (1847-1870); U.S. senator and Alabama governor Braxton Bragg Comer (1848-1919); John Fletcher Comer, Jr. (1854-1927); and Edward Trippe Comer (1856-1927). There was also at least one daughter in the family. " Be interesting to see some of the pictures the web site mentions - especially the photograph of John Wallace Comer in Civil War uniform with his slave, Burrell.
