    2. The L.J. Johnson in the deed below is Lucious Joshua Johnson, born in or near Stewart Co., GA, 1860 - died in Batesville 1929. Married to Sarah Henrietta McNeil of Webster Co., GA. Migrated to Hurtsboro, Russell Co. about 1885-1890. Moved to Spring Hill, Barbour Co. about 1915-1920. ================================================== The State of Alabama) Barbour County ) This indenture made this 28 day of November in the year of our Lord Nineteen Hundred Eighteen between J.H. Long Jr. and Q.C. Long of Barbour County State of Alabama parties of the first part, and L.J. Johnson, Barbour County, State of Alabama party of the second part, Witnesseth: that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Ten Dollars & other considerations to me in hand paid by L.J. Johnson the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have Granted, Bargained, Sold, Released and Confirmed, and by these presents do hereby Grant, Bargain, Sell , Release, Confirm, and Convey, unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, all that certain messuage or tenement and tract of land , situated in the State and County aforesaid, and particularly described as follows: The West ½ of the South West ¼ of Section 30 and the North West ¼ of the North West ¼ of Section 29, Township 13, Range 27, containing one hundred twenty acres, more or less. Together with all and singular the rights, privileges, herediments and appurtenances whatsoever, thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the aforegranted premises unto the said L.J. Johnson his heirs and assigns forever, and I do covenant with the said L.J. Johnson his heirs and assigns to - and - only proper use and beehoof, forever. And the said J.H. Long & Q.C. Long does covenant with the said L.J. Johnson heirs and assigns, that they are lawfully seized in fee of the aforegranted premises; that they are free from all incumberances; that they have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said L.J. Johnson his heirs and assigns and that I will warrant and deferred the said premises to the said L.J. Johnson heirs and assigns, forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In witness whereof the said J.H. Long Jr. & Q.C. Long parties of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals this day and year as aforewritten. Salisbury, JP in and for said County in said State hereby certify that J.H. Long Jr. & Q.C. Long whose name are signed to the foregoing conveyance, and who are known to me this day, that being informed of the content of this conveyance they executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date. Salisbury in and for said County, do hereby certify that on the 28 day of November 1917, came before me the witness named Inez Long known to me to be the wife of the within named J.H. Long Jr., who, being examined separate and apart from her husband touching her signature to the within conveyance acknowledged, that she signed the same of her free will and accord, and without fear, constraint as threats on the part of her husband.
