Homer - You must have a photographic memory and/or a file of facts that dwarfs many libraries. You amaze me...and every body else, I think. I have kicked around some pretty good libraries in years past and can't imagine where you've found so much civil war material. Anyhow, as so many before me have said, "Keep up the good work!" Anyway, you've shown Barbara County folks were involved in the migration, although, apparently, none of my kin were. As for the Norris family, I checked the 1860 census index and found no Norris in Barbour Co.. There was a William Norris in Pike Co and a Robert in Madison Co, I think it was. I have been touched by the character and determination of the people who made that trip. It not only says a lot about what the real issues were to them, but I think sometimes we overlook what strong, independent, self-made worthy people made up that society.
