Peggy, Bethune B. McKenzie, 1837-1915 served first as Lt, Co C, 39th Ala Inf Rgt and later as Capt, Co B, 4th Bn, Ala. Cav; he was paroled at Greensboro, NC in May 1865 as Capt, Co I, Jeff Davis Legion Cav; Capt McKenzie and his men had served earlier in Va with the gallant J.E.B. Stuart, as a part of Stuart's Cav Corps, Army of Northern Va; he is buried in Fair- view Cemetery, Eufaula; George A. Roberts of Eufaula served as 1st Lt, "Eufaula Minute Men" and would not have been in NC at the surrender. Deo Vindice, Homer
