>From The Eufaula Tribune - Sunday, July 30, 2000 ============================================================ Robert Melvin Johnson Funeral services for Mr. Robert Melvin Johnson, 82, of Clayton, were held Thursday, July 27, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Brown officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery with Kent Funeral Home of Clayton directing. Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, July 25 at Lakeview Community Hospital after an extended illness. Born Dec. 7, 1917 in Barbour County, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Wiley Robert and Katie Miles Johnson of Clayton. He was the husband of the late Imogene Arrington Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident and farmer in Barbour County, and he was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Linda J. Bland and her husband Alvin of Luverne, Kay Johnson of Montevallo, and Diane J. Knight and her husband John of Hayneville; on sister, Marie Ellie Howell of Pratville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Eric Knight, John Pitt Williams, Pitt Williams, Chris Boutwell, Ray Johnson, Ed Holley and John Knight. The family request that memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery fund, P.O.
