    3. Sandra, The OCR Book 3 index is a list of people who had estates in OCR Book 3. There are, of course, many other people mentioned in the estate (heirs, executors, bondsmen, etc.). And... this is just one OCR Book. There are many OCR books for Barbour County - I don't know how many. OCR Books 3 and 4 cover the period from 1847-1852. If the name of the person for whom you are looking did not show up in the index, I assume they did not have an estate record for that time frame. That does not mean that they were not mentioned in an estate somewhere, or they did not have an estate recorded in another OCR book.
