    3. When I read this post from Homer where he said "If you listen real closely you will hear a "Thank You" coming from somewhere way far off." It reminded me of when my husband and I went to Scotland to search for my McIntosh line. We went to the battlefield of Culloden where the mass graves are marked by stones representing each Clan that is buried there. As I stood by the Mackintosh stone and placed my hand on it, I could swear that there was a "knowledge" of some kind that I had come to honor them. I'm sure your ancestor feels the same, Richard. We are all truly blessed on this list to have someone like Homer. He never ceases to amaze me with his expertise and knowledge of the Civil War, as well as his kindness, gentleness, sense of humor, and depth of soul. I, for one, know there are ranks of soldiers in gray "somewhere way far off" that salute him each and every day. Deo Vindice to you Homer. Glover Richard, Great!! if it was an upright marker, the weight is about 270, but if it was flat, about half that; whatever the weight, too hot to be trying that in this weather. Real happy for you and I know if you had listened real closely, you would have heard a "Thank You" coming from somewhere way far-off.
