Homer, My main interest in the THOMAS line is trying to find out what happened to the minor child of Charles E. THOMAS and Feriby LONG. I do think that Charles, son of Morton, either came back to AL from LA after the war, or else came back to AL to enlist with some of his extended family (THOMAS, HAGLER, LONG). I am not really a THOMAS descendant - just trying to round up all my missing LONG family members. Since Feriby was married in 1865, and was dead by early 1868, I can't track her in the census. Do you have a list, or know of a web site that lists the companies supplied by Barbour and Dale? The CSA Index book is arranged alphabetically, and the THOMAS section is huge. For instance, here are a few that I *think* might be from Barbour/Dale THOMAS (from AL) A. 33rd Inf Co A Aaron Hardy's Co (Eufaula Minute Men) Abram 39th Inf Co C Adam J. 6th Calv Co H A.F. 45th Inf Co C Thomas B. 6th Calv Co I C.C. 25th Inf Co B Daniel 1st Bn Hilliard's Vol Co B Daniel R. 33rd Inf Co G David J. 1st Bn Hilliard's Vol Co B D.H. 15th Inf Co H Sgt There are, course, tons more from AL alone, not to mention the other states. If I knew which regiments/companies were supplied by Barbour/Dale it might help me pick out those gentleman from the list. Thanks, Terri
