Richard, I have placed a number of them after contacting the family to find where they would like them placed; the answer was always in one of the family plots; I have placed a couple in cemeteries in the area of where I felt a soldier would have lived; I think as long as you have it marked "In Memory of", no one will give you any trouble; I do remember one case where a friend, now passed on, placed six markers for HIS Ancestors in a cemetery down in Geneva County where another ancestor had been the church founder; he contacted the care-taker, then placed them and dog- gone near had to fist fight members of the congregation; kinda touchy, but w/ proper coordination, should be no problem; one thing about it, if you place one of the 270 pound uprights in concrete, no one is going to move it.
