I am curious about the Gilmore's migration patterns....any ideas you would be willing to share? Sorry if you have already discussed this...my brain is about fried with this move and the fact that I still have not found a place to live! 3. Joseph Henderson is the father of the orphans I had listed. I am still working on his family. There is supposed to be some papers in Barbour County Orphans Court, 14 Oct. 1838, they could hold a key to all this. I know Lee {?Leroy} and William were sons of Joseph. There are some papers in both Pike & Barbour County's on these two, I don't have them all. With the dates you give and the dates of these papers, I don't think they are the same people. It could be that the ones on my papers are the grand-parents or Uncles of yours. Maybe if you go back and look at Joseph Henderson, you might be able to see something I have missed. Maybe someone on the list can help us, by looking at it and telling us what they think. Any help welcome!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: <ALABAMABTRFLY@aol.com> To: <ALBARBOU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 13, 2000 11:21 AM Subject: Re: [ALBARBOU] Henry & Jane Gilmore - Pike - Barbour Co., Al. > My Alto was born and died in Clayton,Alabama. 1. Re: [ALBARBOU] John Wyley Glover
    2. Thanks, Homer, for looking. I may have sent you on a wild goose chase. I reviewed the CSA service record for my great grandfather, John Wyley Glover, and was reminded that he went back (from Barbour where he was married in 1860) to Jacksonville, AL, where he enlisted in the Confederate Army. Perhaps Cousin John, too, enlisted in Benton (now Calhoun) County as that is where their fathers and grandfather lived. I won't ask you to spend any more time on this search because "Cousin John" was not in my direct line. Regards, Jack

    2. Cal, There is a Bethlehem on Co. Rd 79 between White Oak and Batesville near Wyecott Plantation and there is one on a dirt road several miles east of there. I have not visited either but I believe the one on the dirt road is a black cemetery. Bethlehem has not been surveyed recently to my knowledge but I have a copy of the Marie Godfrey survey from 1960/1965 that I would be happy to do a lookup for you or you might try Bonnie or Sabrina on the mail list to see if they have surveyed it recently.
