    3. Sandra, No problem, glad I could help; I learned to whittle, sitting on the Court House steps up in Fayette County with a number of those "Grand old soldiers"; I was quite young, but some of my fondest memories while growing-up are tied to them and their outlook on life; I've even heard a Rebel Yell, but seem to remember it was more than a little feeble. Oh how I wish there had been things like hand-held tape recorders then. Deo Vindice, Homer

    2. Thanks, Homer, for the Moses E. Smith civil war reference. Don't think I've noticed the discrepancy in birth years for him before. One of my cousins has done a bit of research on this great grandfather, so we should be able to sort it out. You know, when I was a kid (on the West Coast) trying to argue immature politics and civil rights with my father (who never talked all that much about his background), gently tried to widen my vision a bit, and told me that when he was a kid, there were still many people around who remembered the Civil War. He said a number of other things I found hard to believe at that time. My thanks to you and others on this list who have provided back-up and context for his remarks. Sandra

    1. [ALBARBOU] Cemeteries in Tennille, AL
    2. Thomas Blair
    3. Greetings to all! My Brother, Eric Blair, gathered the following information on the graves located in Tennille(Pike County). There are two cemeteries in Tennille. There are several cemeteries located near Tennille, one that has been mentioned earlier, Mt Zion, is about 2 miles from Tennille. Eric reminded me that there are at least a couple of graves where the names and info are not legible(if there ever was info on them). There are likely several other graves that are not marked. The cemeteries are in pretty good shape. They receive attention from time to time. Regarding the Blair/Bishop Cemetery in Barbour Co, I have gotten in contact with a gentleman with the Mead Company and I am currently waiting on him to get back with me with some additional information. Hopefully we will have a good resolution to the problem with it. I hope the below info will be helpful to someone-so many have helped me.
