    3. Margie, Can't tell you anything about William H. Glover other he was not with the rgt to be paroled at Appomattox in Apr 1865; one Pvt Thoms A. Glover, Co A of the 43d was paroled there; Genl Lee had a very large number of men captured at Sailor's Creek and Farmville prior to reaching Appomattox so its possible William was among those and would probably have been paroled at Lynchburg; I don't have that list; the T.M. 2. M. Daniels
    3. Eli C. Glover said that Nathan O'Neal had a big dog and a little girl and the little girl died and they came back to Alabama to Grandad's old place( the year is not yet known) that Uncle Frank got grandad's old place, there was an empty house on the Hawkins old place and that Nathan and his family moved into the empty house. They had to get written permission to leave the state of Georgia because of the fever that was in Georgia and New Orleans. Uncle Frank died in 1891 . This is taken from oral history of my grandfather Eli C. Glover. He is speaking of his father Nathan O'Neal Glover. I believe this place to be near Blue Springs. Does anyone know anything about the Hawkins old place. This could be Henry or Barbour county since it is near the border. Thanks, Margie

    3. Donna, The book is entitled: Our Green Tree and was written by Shelly Hobson and Hazeline W. Green and Shannon Kathleen Green. I don't know if it is in print. It is a paperback book. Mine was given to me by a friend and relative who bought two copies several years ago and just had one put up and knew that I would appreciate it. George E. Green was born in 1794 in North Carolina, the county is unknown Joseph Carter Green was born 1/15/1830 in Georgia. Do not know county. He married Amanda Tamplin who was born 5/1839 in Jones Co. Ga. . He died 11/1/1906 in Barbour Co. Al after being thrown from a wagon.and she died 4/30/1901 in Barbour Co. Alabama from cancer and muscular dystrophy. All this came from Green book and was provided by Mrs. Truitt Weston the great-granddaughter of Joseph and Amanda. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna Wall" <dfshine@worldnet.att.net> To: <ALBARBOU-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 19, 2000 11:02 PM Subject: Re: [ALBARBOU] Re: Confederate burials in Oakland Cemetery,Atlanta. > Debbie: > > Can you send me the author, publ. etc. of Our Green Tree. 3. Homer, Sorry - I don't have a clue. One would surmise either an accident, or "epidemic" type of illness - flu, fever, etc. Will keep my eyes open, and let you know if I find anything. Long, 1st Bn, Hilliard's Lgn as a pensioner in Crenshaw; I went up there and found him: Robert B. Long, b. 1830; s/o William M. and Sarah Long; m. a Martha M; the puzzler is that they both d. Mar 15, 1908 and are buried at Long's Chapel north of Rutledge; any idea what the cause of deaths were ??
