The "rest of the story" . . . The site below will give the history of the Alabama medical schools I mentioned previously as well as all in the US as of 1912. I learned that my gt. uncle, Thomas O. Smith of Bibb and later Shelby Counties, graduated in 1907 from the Univ. of Nashville Medical Dept which later had union with Vanderbilt. The school was extinct in 1911. Much thanks to Nick. These codes may have changed each year. I warn you it is for the entire country and exceeds 3 MB pdf.
