The Autauga Genealogical Society will be taking a field trip to the new Georgia State Archives at Morrow, GA, on October 3-4. We will be car pooling like we did on the last trip. Those of us traveling as a group will be meeting at 7:30- 8 a.m. on Friday, October 3, in the parking lot behind Herrod's Chevron Station on Hwy 31 near Hwy 14(Prattville). We will be leaving sharply thereafter. Some will be driving on their own and will meet us at the Archives. We will spend the afternoon of October 3rd, researching at the Archives, then will check in at the hotel and eat dinner out Friday night. We will spend Saturday, October 4th, at the Archives and leave to come home late that afternoon. Most of us will be staying at the Days Inn-Southlake, 1599 Adamson Parkway, Morrow, GA 30260, ph. 770-961-6044 or 1-888-757-3297. This hotel is located within two miles of the Archives and offers a special "GA Archives" discount of $45 for those who request the discount. Each person will be responsible for making their own hotel reservations. If you are planning on going with us, please let me know. Also, if you intend on driving your vehicle and have room for one or more "riders", let me know. We have a few who want to go but will need to hitch a ride. I will be driving my vehicle and have room for one or two. At this time there are at least two or three others who will also be driving their vehicles. You do not have to be a member of the Autauga Genealogical Society (AGS) to go with us on this trip. We always welcome guests, especially those with an interest in researching. Larry E.
