Everyone's been really great on this list about following the rules of the list, even though technically we don't have many rules. Nevertheless, for those of you that are new, let me review some of the unwritten (up to now) guidelines: 1. Keep on the subject of Autauga County genealogy. We don't discuss families, religion, or politics (national, state, county, city, genealogical societies, etc.). Likewise, the list isn't the place to have arguments on any subject. 2. If you need to have private communications with someone, don't do it on the list. 3. Absolutely no improper language. 4. Absolutely no postings that assault the good name or character of anyone, living or dead. 5. Do your best to make clear, unambiguous postings, using proper grammar, spellings, and punctuations. Remember you are trying to either solicit or pass along information, and you want to make your messages clearly understood. 6. Remember that the postings are archived. Once you hit the SEND command, your posting is in the record. 7. Remember that only a few participants live in Autauga County. Most of us (including me) do not. 8. Don't be afraid to ask questions about genealogy or the list. You can ask your question to the list members, or you can e-mail me. 9. Don't hesitate to post what may seem to be the most insignificant question or finding. Your data may be exactly what someone else is seeking. 10. If you see a problem with the list, please let me know. I travel a lot, and sometimes I don't read my email very quickly or thoroughly; but I eventually respond to everything. Thanks for your support of Autauga County genealogy. Tom
