    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Simmons, Jones, Durden, Golding Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pR.2ADE/1460 Message Board Post: In the 1870 Autauga, Alabama Beat 5 Census there is an Elizabeth Durden (Age 70, GA) listed in house # 32. Those listed living with her are: Fannie Durden (Age 22, AL) George W. Simmons (Age 30, AL) Susan Simmons (Age 21, AL) I know that Elizabeth (Beard) Durden was married to Benjamin Durden and that Susan is their daughter. Susan married George Washington Simmons 19 Aug 1869. I was hoping someone has more information on the family of this George Washington Simmons. Such as who were his parents? George W. Simmoins died in 1906 and is buried in Oak HIll Cemetery in Autauga County, AL. His brother, Andrew J. Simmons, is also buried near him in Oak Hill, as is Susan (Durden) Simmons. George and Susan Simmons' son, Samuel B. Simmons, born 1876 and died 1924 is also buried there. --------- I would also like to know about Martha (Simmons) Golding who married Robert Golding. In the 1880 Autauga, Prattville, Alabama Census there is listed: Robert Golding Male - 32 - Work in Cotton Mill - Alabama Martha - Female - Wife - Keep House - Alabama Bertha - Female- Daughter - Alabama Maude - 1 - Daughter - Alabama A.J. Simmons - 36 - Male - Brother-in-Law - Gardner - Alabama Josephine Jones - Female - 21 - Sister-in-Law - Alabama Daniel Golding - Male - 22 - Brother - Alabama I gather from this census that Josephine & Martha are sisters to A.J. Simmons. If I am wrong, please correct me. If anyone has information about anyone of these Simmons' please email me. I think I have finally made a connection to my 3rd great grandmother who was also a Simmons! Thanks, Kim
