    1. [ALAUTAUG-L] Field Trip to Wallace State
    2. The Autauga Genealogical Society will be taking a field trip to Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama on Friday, June 6- Saturday, June 7. The College normally is not normally open on Saturdays but is making a special effort to open on June 7 for our visit and any other patron wanting to visit that day. We will probably leave early on Friday morning to go ahead and get to Hanceville to do a few hours of research that afternoon. If anyone is interested in going with us on this trip, please let me know. We will be spending Friday night there in Cullman and returning Saturday evening. We will be "car pooling". We will need some people to volunteer to drive their vehicles. I will drive my vehicle and will have space for a couple of riders. The arrangements for the trip will be very casual. We do not have any "pre-arranged" hotel accomodations/rates, but plan to stay at the Comfort Inn. If you would like to go, you would need to contact the hotel direct for your own hotel arrangements. The rates are normally $60 or less per night. The cost will vary depending on what discounts you have (AAA, senior citizens, etc.) and people can "double up" and share a room too to defray costs. The address is: Comfort Inn, 5917 Hwy 157 N.W., Cullman, AL 35058, ph. 256-734-1240 We hope you can join us for this special event. Wallace State has microfilm of the actual death certificates up to 1975 for Alabama. This is a very special opportunity to do some death certificate research on your Alabama ancestors. Larry E. Caver, Jr.
