Below is another news column reprinted from the Citizen in the Montgomery Advertiser in 1872... Larry (Autauga County) Our Circuit Court adjourned last Saturday at noon, after having disposed of a heavy criminal docket... The case of Judge DENNIS was called up on Thursday, but was not tried, the defendant not putting in his appearance. His bond was forfeited. The indictment in the slander case was demurred too, and the trial was postponed until the next term of the court. A few days prior to the death of Capt. James M. HILL, our late Circuit Clerk, he tendered his resignation, which was accepted, and Mr. Will P. GOLSON was appointed to the office by Judge J.Q. SMITH... We have it, upon good authority, that a skating rink is soon to be opened in Prattville, at Roger's Hall, perhaps. We have not had a seasonable rain in this neighborhood for some two weeks. The gardens and young cotton and corn would be much benefited by a few good showers. -Citizen, May 2nd Source: Montgomery Daily Advertiser, May 8, 1872
