Several months ago there was some discussion concerning a William Wicker who served in the Revolutionary War and died in Pike County in 1852. Through the help of a local Pike County historian a member of the Wiregrass Chapter, SAR has located the government marker for this soldier. Visit www.wiregrasssar.org under patriots and you will find a picture of the headstone. This cemetery is very close to where he owned land, and early church records indicate he was a member of this church which was established in the 1840's.
