Her father, Will Shackelford, was born in Autaugaville Alabama. On her birth certificate, both her parents were listed as mulatto in the area cting race. I know that my grandfather had brothers, George and Edward. Oral hstory says that their father was Hillard Shackelford. In fact, my mother's younger brother was named Hilliard, too.
