Goodmorning CHRIS; I read some where, that many years ago lots of people were superstitious and would give the same name to two of their children. one as a first name & the other as a 2nd name. This was to confuse the DEVIL so he would not know which one to take. I don't know if it confused the devil or not, but I know it sure confuses the h--- of me now. Joe in AZ

We once had a couple living across the street from us, the guy was from the U.S., the wife was from Germany, his name was Thomas, both of their sons were Thomas. I asked her if she had a fondness for the name of Thomas, she told me that was the way they named their sons in her homeland. That was the only time I have ever came across that.
