    3. Hi John, The one this book as about is in Chilton Co. On the road from Jemison to Maplesville going south, you take a left at County Rd 15. A few miles down CR15 the church will be on your right. We may have different Mulberry Churches. I remember when my great aunt died, my father had spend quite a few Sunday afternoons driving down in the country trying to find the right Mulberry Baptist Church for her burial. There is one in Bibb Co too, but it's called the Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church. Alice Mulberry Baptist Church 2331 County Road 29 Maplesville, AL 36750 (205) 755-6816 Latitude (DMS) 325003N Longitude (DMS) 0864757W Latitude (DEC) 32.8342930 Longitude (DEC) -86.7991531 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Campbell, Can you describe, more or less, where the Mulberry Baptist Church is located? Nearby Ivy Creek Baptist? Regards, John Pears

In a cursory glance thru it, looking at all the various lists of members, I did not find your surname, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. I'm notoriously bad at doing that sort of thing. 3. The "rest of the story" . . . The site below will give the history of the Alabama medical schools I mentioned previously as well as all in the US as of 1912. I learned that my gt. uncle, Thomas O. Smith of Bibb and later Shelby Counties, graduated in 1907 from the Univ. of Nashville Medical Dept which later had union with Vanderbilt. The school was extinct in 1911. Much thanks to Nick. Caroline ----- Original Message ----- From: Nicholas Cirillo To: caroline Sent: Thursday, August 10, 2006 12:10 PM Subject: Re: [ALAUTAUG-L] Alabama Medical History Caroline, I corresponded with the doctor who put the listing you have below from the Anesthesia Dept at Univ of Alabama and he sent me the following site that deciphers the codes for medical schools in the 1912 listing. These codes may have changed each year. I warn you it is for the entire country and exceeds 3 MB pdf. The code is state abbreviation and a sequential number eg AL-02 would be Alabama's second listed school. Alot of these are no longer in existence. 3. Hi Melissa, thanks for listing the web address for everyone (see below). This is the web site I was referring to when looking for info about my uncle. I looked again at all the years (i.e., 1912 - 1931, about 7 in all) and found 1 year where it states that he attended medical college in Tenn, grad in 1907. It doesn't tell which school in Tenn. but some of my curiosity is satisfied. When looking at other physicians it shows that many went to school at Tenn. There is a lot of interesting info on this site other than physician info: *population of each town (determined by the previous census is an explanation in the 1923 directory key); *towns with hospitals *towns with doctors and their names, specialty, year born, year grad from med school In Alabama in 1923 the medical schools listed were: Graffenburg Institute, Dadeville Univ. of Ala. School of Medicine, Tuscaloosa Southern Univ. Med. Dept., Green[sboro] Birmingham Medical College Med. Coll. 2. There are very few family folders at the Heritage Center in Prattville. They do have the old newspapers. Everything has been moved to the Autauga-Prattville Library which is close to downtown at 254 Doster Street and just off Hwy 14 at Autauga Creek. I was by the library today and there is not a Boon/Boone family folder, but one has been made to include your query. However; there are two large books on this family. The titles of these are - "Boon Genealogy 1984" and Thomas Boone Immigrant ". We have a large collection of material at the library in the Alabama Room and would love for you to visit. E.
