Also, now that you have the date of death you should be able to find an obit in either the Prattville Progress or Montgomery Advertiser. The Autauga Heritage Center has bound copies of the Progress from that period or you could email ADAH for a lookup. Links to both can be found here: https://www.rootsweb.com/~alags/ John carolineh@knology.net wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pR.2ADE/1465.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Name: Richard Foster > Death Date: 04 May 1952 > Death County: Autauga > Volume: 18 > Certificate: 8977 > Roll: 5 > > The index of death certificates from 1908 to 1959 has been put on microfilm and is in the Archives, online at Ancestry.com for members, and available at many LDS Family History Centers. If the certificate you want is in that time period and listed on the index, it's also available on microfilm and a copy can be obtained for the cost at whatever facility provides the film. > > If you can get the information (which is listed above) about a death certificate from that index you can also obtain a copy at > http://alabamadeath.tripod.com/. Susette Cook, who runs the site, is a FHC volunteer and will provide copies (not certified ) for $3 each. I know of numerous people who have taken advantage of her service, and it's outstanding. The death certificate gives dates of birth and death, names of parents and other helpful info and usually tells where the person is buried. > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ALAUTAUG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > >
