I know they are buried there, but don't have a plat map. We don't live too far from the cemetery, but it is huge. I'm sure I would be able to get a plat map from someone at the City of Prattville. I have lots of relatives buried in Oakwood in Montgomery and was just wondering what all was in the booklet you ordered from Old Alabama Town. Great June, June as you know I am related as well, I really did not figure that out until this Summer. Mother Jessie Isabell Zeigler, Grandfather John Abslom Zeigler, GGrandfather Joel Edward Zeigler, GGGrandfather John Jacob Zeigler whose wife was Martha Emma Sale and her mother was Lelah Elveneah Whetstone daughter of Jacob, her husband was Rev. John Sale and honestly June that is all I know about the Sale. The 1850 Census indicated that he was born in South Carolina as all the rest of this generation was. June do you know where the Whetstone Cemetery is located. We have been to the Hall Cemetery several times where Nicholas and at least one his daughters is buried. Just found out in a book written by Fletcher Spigener and John C. Hall about the Spigeners, that Nicholas' first wife was Catherine Spigener and his father was Hans Casper a brother to our John Jacob, this one is my GGGGGrandfather who came to Alabama. Does anybody know how to get to the Whetstone Cemetery which is some where off of the Dutch Bend Road, and the cemetery where Rev. John and Leah Elveneah Whetstone Sale are buried. Where the Sales are buried is off highway 14 after you go across I-65 and continue toward Robinson Springs. Ms. Anne Gokey gave me directions which included a frame white house which sat off the highway and the cemetery was some distance behind it, but now there is no white frame house, it is almost solid subdivisions from Prattville to Robinson Springs. Any help will be appreciated.
Sorry William KIRKLAND was born in 1762 and died in 1838. His son Daniel died the same year. Caroline KIRKLAND was the daughter of Lewis Edmund KIRKLAND. Genealogy LookUp Forum is a web site of volunteers who will do various types of genealogical look ups such as births, census, cemetery, deaths and marriage. We are also looking for new volunteers that have access to records that may help others as well. We do have our own genealogy chat room that is moderated by Hosts who are very helpful on giving others genealogical advice. They will do look ups from several paid online resources for those who do not have access to them. We have a weekly chat called GENTREK with HOSTS that give a genealogical presentation class to the members each week. The topics are different every week. Several months ago there was some discussion concerning a William Wicker who served in the Revolutionary War and died in Pike County in 1852. Through the help of a local Pike County historian a member of the Wiregrass Chapter, SAR has located the government marker for this soldier. Visit www.wiregrasssar.org under patriots and you will find a picture of the headstone. This cemetery is very close to where he owned land, and early church records indicate he was a member of this church which was established in the 1840's. John Wallace William Wicker Dec 22, 1760 - Dec. 20, 1852 South Carolina Militia Buried in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery Located on HWY 29 in the Josie Community, Pike County Alabama.
